For wanderers…and wonderers.
Maybe you want to explore the dramatic landscapes of the Scottish Highlands. Maybe you hope to escape to the Hebrides. Or maybe you need to rest, read and stare at the sea. Whatever your adventure, you can find it at Cuilcheanna House.
Cuilcheanna (“cool kenna”) House was a 17th-century cottage built for the tacksman of a branch of the Camerons of Callart. Set next to a listed 18th-century walled garden, said to have been built by English soldiers during the Jacobite rebellion, the house was later transformed into a Victorian villa. For over 150 years, Cuilcheanna House has welcomed travellers drawn to the mesmerising natural landscapes of Lochaber.
A fantastic base to explore Glencoe, the West Highland Way, Ben Nevis or the Hebridean islands, guests can happily spend their whole visit to the Highlands staying at Cuilcheanna House.
“Cuil Cheanna” means hollow of the headland. A wander down to the Loch Linnhe shoreline with its mountain views will give guests seeking serenity an opportunity to breathe deep and put the worries of daily life aside.
The natural landscape has inspired our commitment to sustainability. You can charge your EV or reach us by public transport. We avoid single use plastic and wrappers, and recycle and reuse wherever possible. The heating is powered by renewable energy.
It is hard to wonder in a world full of screens. There are no TVs in our guest rooms but many books for both adults and children. We hope you will find space to read, write and re-wild.
